Writing with voices: as shapes and as patterns
This 2-hour workshop invites participants to explore the intersection of movement, voice and creative writing. Writing is often framed as a product of thought- something that happens in the mind. In this session we’ll turn towards the body as a site of language and expression.
Through a series of performance based prompts, participants will experiment with writing as an embodied practice that is built within movement* – writing is here a way of listening to and speaking from within: the bodies rhythms, gestures and textures.
Inspired by the work of Petra Kuppers, this workshop centre disabled, neurodivergent and chronically ill participants. Inviting writing as a form of play reflection and creative agency.
*Movement meaning energetic, physical or emotional.
